Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms form a contract between you and Pecuna Factorum Ltd (trading as LAW-BUD). By creating an account or using LAW-BUD you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. What LAW-BUD is — and isn't

LAW-BUD is an AI-powered legal information service for England, Wales and Scotland. It provides general legal information, not legal advice. We are not a regulated law firm under the Legal Services Act 2007 and we do not offer reserved legal activities. Nothing on LAW-BUD creates a solicitor-client relationship.

For complex matters — court representation, contentious probate, conveyancing, immigration tribunals, regulated investment advice — you must instruct a qualified solicitor or other regulated professional.

3. Accuracy disclaimer

AI models can make mistakes. Always verify any statute, case reference, or document we produce against the official source (legislation.gov.uk, BAILII, the relevant court's practice direction) before relying on it. We will not be liable for losses caused by relying on LAW-BUD output without verification.

4. Subscriptions and payment

• Plans are charged in GBP through Stripe. Prices are exclusive of UK VAT where applicable.
• Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled.
• You can cancel any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate.
• Failed payments give you 7 days' grace before paid app access is paused.

5. Right to cancel — 14-day cooling off

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a right to cancel a new paid plan within 14 days for a full refund. By starting to use LAW-BUD's paid features within those 14 days you agree to begin performance immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed for the period paid. 6. Acceptable use

You will not:

• Use LAW-BUD to generate content that breaches the Solicitors Regulation Authority Code of Conduct, holds you out as a regulated lawyer, or breaches the Legal Services Act 2007.
• Submit content that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, or designed to incite violence or harm.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or build a competing AI service from LAW-BUD output.
• Share account credentials with anyone outside your subscription (the Firm plan permits multi-seat use within one organisation).

7. Intellectual property

You retain rights to anything you upload. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to process it solely to provide the service. LAW-BUD's software, brand, prompts, and documentation are owned by Pecuna Factorum Ltd and licensed to you for the duration of your subscription.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid in that period. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses, lost profits, or lost opportunities.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account on 7 days' notice for breach of these terms, or immediately for fraud or risk to other users. You may terminate at any time. On termination we will give you 30 days to export your data.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, save that consumers ordinarily resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may bring claims in their local courts.
